Available Apprenticeship Fields
1. Auto Electrician Learnership (2026)
This programme equips learners with foundational skills in repairing, maintaining, and diagnosing electrical systems on heavy mining equipment used on large-scale operations.
2. Earthmoving Equipment Apprenticeship
Learners are trained in fault diagnosis, maintenance, servicing, and the operational reliability of earthmoving machinery.

Key Responsibilities
Earthmoving Equipment Apprenticeship Training
Under the guidance of qualified artisans, apprentices will:
- Diagnose machine faults and breakdown causes
- Perform routine and major repairs on earthmoving machinery
- Conduct preventative maintenance and scheduled services
- Complete daily and weekly machinery inspection sheets
- Report mechanical breakdowns to management
- Order and manage spare parts and maintenance components
- Assist with productivity improvement initiatives
- Monitor equipment operational efficiencies
- Ensure full compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) standards
- Support general machine and plant service coordination
This role is fast-paced and suited to individuals interested in diesel mechanics, plant maintenance, and heavy machinery operations.
Auto Electrician Apprenticeship Training
Apprentices will support artisans with various electrical maintenance duties, including:
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults on heavy machinery
- Testing electrical systems, components, lights, sensors, and computer systems
- Analysing fault codes using diagnostic software
- Performing wiring repairs, starter and alternator maintenance
- Logging and reporting unresolved faults
- Ordering electrical spare components
- Conducting planned electrical maintenance tasks
- Responding quickly to electrical breakdowns
- Complying with all safety, environmental, and operational procedures

Minimum Requirements

General Requirements (Both Apprenticeships)
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Mathematics, Physical Science, and Technical Drawing subjects
- Must be unemployed and available full-time
- Must be medically fit for duty in a mining environment
- Previous apprenticeship experience is not required
